Palaios Panteleimonas is a quaint and charming village nestled on the side of the majestic Mt. Olympus at an elevation of 700 meters. The village boasts a breathtaking view of the Aegean and the coastal area below. The traditional design of the houses, taverns, and Old Agios Panteleimonas church has been well-preserved, including the restoration of historic buildings like the old school.
Perched on a hill overlooking the town of Platamonas, the Castle of Platamon is an ancient fortress that has stood the test of time. Originally constructed by the Byzantines in the 10th century, it was later rebuilt by the Crusaders in 1204 to its current form.
The grandeur of Mt. Olympus, with its commanding presence over the surrounding plains and the sea to the east, makes it no surprise that it was chosen by the Greek gods as their abode. Its awe-inspiring beauty remains as captivating as it was in ancient times.

However, what makes it truly remarkable is the presence of several Greek Orthodox monasteries, some of which date back over 700 years, perched atop these pillars, giving the impression of being suspended in the sky.
